LOVED ALL OVER THE WORLD

Vision

As one of India’s largest funds, we have funded hundreds of charitable organizations across India. We value our partners’ hard work and fund their efforts, which cater specially to the needs of underprivileged people in their localities.

LOVED ALL OVER THE WORLD

Mission

To work towards creating an equitable society with the aim of enhancing quality of life for all through empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India.

SUPPORTING THE CAUSE OF RURAL WOMEN IN KUMAON

“Himadri-Hans Handloom” (HHH) is a noble initiative of The Hans Foundation, a non-profit organisation, working in collaboration with the Government of Uttarakhand. The objectives are to make Uttarakhand’s handloom and handcrafted textiles accessible to global markets, impart technical and design skills to rural women artisans of Kumaon thereby helping them enhance their indigenous skills, and finally, make local craft products that match the needs and aspirations of the new-age consumer. Our aim is to directly impact the lives of 5000 women weavers of Uttarakhand.

A POSITIVE IMPACT WITH EVERY PURCHASE

An overwhelming number of weavers in India currently live in poverty. Since 2003, we have supported community development in India by working with over 500 women weavers. Our initiative has brought social reform to women in some of the remotest parts of the Himalayas.

Women now have the power to earn and spend money. Dependency on agriculture, which placed rural communities at the mercy of the vagaries of nature, is no longer a matter of concern. Families now have the capacity to access better education and better health care.

We hope to revive handloom by making these one-of-a-kind textiles accessible to the international market.

OUR AIM

The primary objective is to promote local handicrafts and artworks that are symbols of the Himalayan cultural heritage. In so doing, we also create sustainable livelihood avenues for the marginalized craft communities who are living in some of the most remote areas of the Himalayas in India. These artisans are at the far end of the supply chain and yet have amazing traditional wisdom and skills. HHH intends to create a sustainable hub for the handloom products of the state and act as a robust link between primary producers and destined international markets. The aim is to strengthen traditional craft value chains thereby bringing the desired change in society.

Thanks for the love

“Today, I am a distinguished member of Himadri Hans Handloom family. It has really made me Independent, financially sound enough to raise my two children (Son & Daughter) & provide them a good education, get my old home renovated, and support my family in a difficult time (unemployment of my Husband). My son, after completing his B. Tech., is now working as an Engineer in Pune and recently got selected for advanced training at Abu Dhabi (sponsored by his Company). My daughter is working at The Music College, Haldwani. I had never thought of such a decent life, I am living today. I sincerely wish for huge success & growth of HHH so that more & more needy women of the society get benefitted to lead a prosperous life.”
